MOHEGAN SUN'S 9th Annual "WINEFEST" takes place on JANUARY 27th, 28th & 29th, 2012 by Philip S. Kampe

TICKETS are now on SALE for MOHEGAN SUN'S 9th Annual WineFest (known as SUN WineFest).

The three day event starts on the 27th of January, 2012, and ends on the 29th.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.sunwinefest.com or by visiting the Box Office at Mohegan Sun or through Ticketmaster. A portion of the proceeds benefit the CHANNEL 3 KIDS CAMP.

The weekend's main event is the GRAND TASTING, which takes place on both Saturday, January 28th and Sunday, January 29th. The noon to five event highlights more than 1,000 bottles of wine and beer from throughout the world. Guests can ask questions, hear commentary from wine and beer experts and enjoy delicacies from some of the regions finest restaurants by purchasing tasting portions at a nominal fee.

Main stage events and demonstrations include Celebrity Chef's TODD ENGLISH, BOBBY FLAY and ROBERT IRVINE. Other fun events include the SUN WineFest "GRAPE STOMP" and the Annual "OYSTER OPEN".

Exhibits focus on culinary accessories, wine storage and specialty foods.
TICKETS are $70 per day or $120 for the weekend.

CELEBRITY CHEF DINE AROUND takes place from 8-11pm on Saturday, January 28th. For $175, delectable dishes will be prepared and served with matching wines by Celebrity Chef's JASPER WHITE, ROBERT IRVINE, DONATELLA ARPAIA, BOBBY FLAY and TODD ENGLISH. The event takes place in the UNCAS Ballroom.

The ELITE CRU TASTING takes place at the CABARET THEATER from 3-5pm on Saturday, January 28th. Sample select Vintages from DUCKHORN, SILVER OAK, ANTINORI SOLAIA, TENUTA SAN GUIDO SASSICAIA and THREE PALMS, just to name a few. The winemakers will be on hand. The $200 ticket includes a ticket for the GRAND TASTING, as well.

BOURBON TASTING will take place on Friday, 17 January from 6-9pm at LEFFINGWELLS MARTINI BAR. Sample an array of Special Bourbons and sought-after CIGARS (in a dedicated area) from Davidoff. Passed hors d'oeuvres will be seved. Tickets for this event are $90.

BUBBLES and BON BONS will give guests a chance to taste a variety of high-end CHAMPAGNES, CHOCOLATES and CHEESES. The event takes place at the CABARET Theater from 6-9pm and ends the MOHEGAN SUN WineFest. Tickets are priced at $95.

MOHEGAN SUN is located on 185 acres in southeastern Connecticut. Located on the Thames River, MOHEGAN SUN is close to Boston, New York and Providence. The Mystic seacoast is also nearby.
